New Discovery: Gowns!

My poor mama had been searching for a presentable gown to wear for my wedding dinner. She been to places like OG and TANGS. Either no size or couldnt find something she likes.. Her search ended today! Haha..

Peter's auntie recommended a shop at AMK Central. His mama also got hers there. I still dunno why such a shop open at such "WU-LU" location.. But the business seems good..

When we first entered, i thought the selection was rather little.. But the lady took out quite a few that really fits my mama.. She finally chose one purple colour qi-pao looked alike kind of gown.. Oki lah, total damage done is less than $200.. Inclusive of free alteration too! ;)

Consider cheap for my mama's size.. Those that she saw or her tailor-made one usually cost about S$250 - 500! The price is really cheaper than those outside shopping malls but must try to bargain with the lady. If you want to know the address, can ask me ;)

If your mama is those big sized one like mine, can get her to go take a look... Oh btw, the quality is normal.. Don't expect to get those good silky quality dress here. If you want those silky one, then definitely will need to pay more.. the world is fair, you get what you paid for..

There is no free lunch in this world.. See more and more examples after working in Employee Services for a few months... The vendors can claim anything they want but there is usually an agenda to everything ;)

My very 1st longest cycling trip in my Life!

So, how many hours was that? 11 hours..

I didnt cycle for the whole of 11 hours. This was the route we took:
Suntec City > Furniture Mall (to confirm our mattress) > Nicoll Highway > ECP > Bedok Reservoir Park Connector (Got caught in the rain) > Bedok Food Centre > Peter's Uncle House (Fix Bike) > Bedok Reservoir Park > George Bike Shop (Fix Bike) > Tampines Road > Buangkok Flyover > Punggol!

Technically, we cycled 8.5 hours in total!

Been complaining abt the lack of exercise for past few weeks.. Either one of us will have something on during the weekends or busy with our house renovation. We were also thinking of getting our own bikes as it may not be impractical to rent the bikes from ECP almost every week.

We have an outrageous idea! Got the bikes at Carrefour and cycled back to Punggol.. Hmm then we really have a full workout.. I will blog/bitch about our bike purchase at Carrefour later on.. if u want to get the bikes there.. please hang on and look out for the write-up!

A lot of exciting things happened during our cycling trip.. I was quite slow for the first half of the trip (due to the bike! haha will complain later on). Then it started raining.. oh dear! no choice need to take shelter.. but the most amazing part was Peter's paddle came loss! That was when we started to become even slower and struggle to get the paddle on.. Haha.. it didnt help much after going to his uncle's place to fix the problem too.. no choice, walked to bike shop at Bedok Reservoir Park.. okie la not too long.. about 15 to 20 mins walk..

Took about an hour to get the bike fix. By then it was 8.30pm. Peter "insisted" to cycle back.. Woohoo! Night Cycling!!! The people at the bike shop are very friendly! They even taught us how to cycle back to Punggol from Bedok!

We had to cycle on the road from Tampines to Buangkok! Wow!! This is not just my first longest cycling but also my first very night cycling and my first very cycling trip on the road. So happy when I saw the new Buangkok flyover!! Cos' we would be home soon!

A Fruitful Saturday!

Hmm.. Surprising my Saturday started rather early. Woke up to have breakfast at Joo Chiat. Had "Fei Fei Wanton Mee"! Yum Yum.. I like the Char Siew - very lean! The noodle is quite different from the other wanton mee stalls. Can really put a word to it. Had a fulfilling meal before I meet Piggy for my massage!

Supposed to have FREE lymphatic massage! But the telemarketer was "blur blur".. Piggy and I were on waiting list!!! No more massage for the day!

We simply strolled and made our way from Orchard to City Hall! It makes a big difference when you walked with your friends.. The distance seems to have become MUCH, MUCH shorter! Why City Hall?

Cos' Piggy has a lobang - Up to 80% off Laneige products.. Goodness! So many people and all are GIRLS.. :) A word of advice: Don't bring your boyfriend to see how you SNATCH things! The look can be TERRIBLE!!! Haha.. Anyway,, this is a good move by Laneige.. I believe this is the first time a lot of consumers like me are trying some of the products for the first time.. If good, guranteed sales over the counter!

Supposes to buy bikes and cycle from Suntec to Punggol too! But.. no more discounts for the full suspension bike that we are eyeing for. Just wait lo! Furthermore, the sky wasn't looking good. It rained! I think this is the 4th or 5th time we took bus!

Not bad orh.. For those staying in Punggol, can take bus 581 (Route: Punggol -> Orchard -> Suntec -> Punggol..)! S$3.60 per board! For Sengkang, Take bus 579 (if I dont remember wrongly).

OG Private Sale... It's Insane!

Been a while since I last went shopping with my mama.. around 2 months?!? Haha..

Decided to take a day off to accompany her. Brought her to OG private sale. I guess this is the first time that OG has such sale (unless i am a mountain turtle and not aware of their previous sale).. Good and "insane" experience for her!

Wow.. You have to queue up to go in, to try clothes and to pay! A lot of people especially aunties (hmm may i consider one? :p).. Like no need money.. The deals are quite good. Most of the items are going for at least 30% off. The additional discounts are only valid for today..

E.g. Daniel Hecter Shirt going for $29.90 plus additional 20% discount. Tracce shoes going for 35% discount!

Guess it may be a better choice to save lots and lots of money during good time and spend only during the bad times.. More discounts and good deals.. For e.g. my bro told me yesterday that Bravia 42" costs only S$599.

I bought something today.. my new toy! Hehe.. going to try it out first so not much comment about it for now. Shall update in the near future!

Night Out!

Come to think of it, 75% of my weekends were night out with friends :)
Till date, celebrated 3 friends' birthday this month! And managed to catch up with one another..

Everytime I went out, I dont feel that there is any recession. People are still spending. But I guess we all need to EAT.. maybe everyone dont mind spending a bit more to have a comfortable place for food! I guess the entertainment vendors will be feeling the pinch... Went KTV on Sat with my friends. We concluded that the service staff were all too free.. They kept asking us if we will like to have food.

Also had an overdose of alcohol this weekend!
Went to new asia bar on Friday.. they have 40% off (for majority of the drinks) and free cover charge before 9pm. Selected something REAL thick which made me tipsy at the end of the day.. I guess next time i shouldnt be so adventurous.. Should just go for the normal ones like martini or margarita!

On Sat, celebrated Crispy's birthday! Was trying to find a place where we could sit down and watch Man Utd vs Liverpool @ Clarke Quay! Oh god, everywhere is so packed with people! Finally found IndoChime.. But after a while, it got crowded as well.. Ordered Margarita! It's like S$50 for a jug. Quite reasonable.

Not only do I have an overdose of alcohol, I seemed to have gone back to those days where I was young.. The ktv session that I had lasted till like 4am! It's has been a while since i last did that! Hmm.. i should not do this anymore from now till my wedding else.. LINES WILL START TO "GROW"!

Been away from my house for about 1 week..

Went on holiday? Nope..
Business Travel? Nope..
On Annual Leave? Nope..

Then what?!?!?!

Been in Punggol for the past 1 week for an "Orientation"! Haha.. This past 1 week is a time for Peter and I to adjust to each other living habits.. Wow realized you need some adjustment and patient to get use to each other habits.

E.g.
Washing clothes: I prefer not to mix the clothes but given the amount of laundry we have, I cant have the luxury to do that. Else, will end up washing only 3-4 garments per time or can only wash by end of the week.. **A reason to get more clothes?** :p

We are also trying to know how things will turn out without having our parents around. After this orientation, I then realized how much our mama are contributing every day! I dont think i can do housework the whole day. It is tiring and can get BORING!! Cheers to the Mamas!

E.g.
Cooking: I prefer to cook steam food else the kitchen will get greasy and need to wash later.. haha.. Sign of laziness! :p

Ya, it is tiring to stay by yourself. A lot of things to manage eg. washing and ironing of clothes, washing dishes etc. For those who are staying with your parents now, help your parents out! Don't take them for granted anymore. If you dont know anything, why not start by learning how to cut apple or mango? At least, you will be able to cut the fruits for your other half.. :)

The last objective of this whole Orientation is to allow my parents to adjust for not having me around.. Haha.. can see that my mama seems quite sad when i am only home for dinner this week :p

Countdown to Y2009 by playing xbox with my mama! Haha.. my mama is addicted to the game - Kungfu Panda. Quite cute game.. As for me, i am addicted to the Three Kingdom. It is fun and exciting..

Hmm.. i will miss my current house next year after moving into my new house in Punggol. I can get to see the fireworks from my current house ;) My location is quite cool. I get to see the fireworks from Marina Bay/Esplanade area, Kallang area and Sentosa too! Just need to run to the window, take out camera and SNAP!!!!

The Most Interesting Christmas Gift For the Year!

Interesting bag? What brand is that.. It is Fila! Wow.. Branded bag leh...

Hmm.. Look at the small pouch at the front.. Quite squarey looking. Hey, there are also pockets at the side of the bag for placing items like.. WATER BOTTLE? And UMBRELLA too! Wow.. Multi-purpose bag.

Hmm.. the sides of the bag is quite hard as well.. Hmm.. it looks and feel like those bag that i used when i was in Primary ONE!!!

This is one of the Christmas Gifts that I received this year. I love all my Christmas Gifts except for THIS particular one. Someone told me this:

Someone: "Which little kid are you getting the bag for?"
My Reply: "Erm.. this is a present from Peter's Sister-In-Law..."

Sorry, I can't help "bitching" about this bag. Personally, I have no idea why she will give me such a bag considering that i will not need it in the next 2 years. And the fact is that even if i need, will an adult carrying such kiddy bag to go out? Okie.. finish bitching.. at least i feel better.. Oops.. apology for being writing such a nasty and sacrastic blog! Personally, i dont like it myself too..

A Tour around Singapore!

I had a short tour around Singapore today!

Start: Woodlands (North) > Sungei Kadut (North-West) > Kallang Leisure Park (East) > End: Vivocity (South)

Went to each of these places with a purpose. After work, dropped by Sungei Kadut to confirm the purchase for my sofa and delivery date! Guess what! We forgot to bring the invoice but luckily, the salesperson could check on their side. So sofa confirmed!

Peter wanted to get his Nokia E71 very very very much! He was so excited and wanted to head to Kallang Leisure Park for dinner @ Kou Fu first before getting his beloved phone.. Yes, 2nd time I been there! Btw, from Monday - Friday, first 2 hours parking free before 6pm. After 6pm, it is only $1.50 per entry. Relatively cheaper than any place. :) Want to know places with cheap parking in town, can ask me!

We spent a long time to get to Kallang Leisure Park! Made several wrong "moves" along the way and resulted in us LOSING our way! I told Peter, "Ya, you wouldn't want me to open my mouth! So I better keep quiet...=x". Cos I am almost going to blow my top.. haha but not easy for Peter also bah cos HE IS HUNGRY!

Finally, reached the place and went to the SingTel shop and this is what the salesperson told us..
Salesperson A: "Sorry, no more stock!". haha.. i just laughed and almost fainted!

Remember i went to Vivocity too? So after dinner, we headed straight to Vivocity. Went to the new SingTel shop and this was what the salesperson said:
Salesperson B: "We are closed. Erm.. E71 no more stock. Will come in 2-3 days.".

Nevermind, we try again. Told Peter to try the other SingTel shop at level 2.. Hmm this time round...
Salesperson C: "What colour you want? Let us check. I think only left one!"

Finally!!! WE GOT NOKIA E71 AFTER RUNNING TO 3 DIFFERENT PLACES!!!! :) This Nokia E71 is really hard to come by...

My Latest Addition... for my House!

Got most of the items for my new house e.g. LCD TV, utensils, fan etc. We are all ready to move it! Currently, I am working out the renovation details and completion date with my contractor. Hope to finish the renovation very much before Chinese New Year!

This month is REALLY a season of giving and BUYING! Peter and I made our way to the newly renovated Kallang Leisure Park on Friday. This is my 1st time to Kallang Leisure Park! Have never gone there before.. haha.. Yes i am a mountain turtle!!!!

The shopping mall is still under renovation. No major store. Only those small shops that sell cutie items.. Ideal to search for Christmas present! Haha.. Suddenly, both of us are like on shopping spree cos we have never spent so much for the past months except on household items.

That's not all.. On Saturday, after our out-of-the-box outing @ ECP, we decided to make our way to a out-of-the-box shopping mall i.e. Great World City! Haha.. this is where the spending starts! This is what we got:
